According to the head of the Rivne region, this boiler plant on renewable energy sources is the largest in Western Ukraine. Its capacity is 20 MW.
"Ukrteplo, which owns Rivneteploenergo LLC, plans to build two more such boiler houses on Budivelnykiv and Knyaz Volodymyr streets. This will save up to 9 million m³ of gas per year, which will reduce the financial burden," Koval said. He stressed that in wartime conditions it is very important to be independent of Russian gas.
"Especially since local raw materials are used - wood chips from Rivne forests, which will make heat cheaper. We will saturate the market with means for local producers, and the local product will heat the homes of Rivne residents," Koval stated.

A third of the city of Rivne has already abandoned the use of gas, replacing it with wood chips from local forests. This was reported by the head of the Rivne Regional Administration Maksym Koval.
He said that on February 23, the start-up and adjustment works of the boiler plant of LLC "Rivneteploenergo" on bio-raw materials - wood chips began in Rivne.
